Recently, more and more actresses have been speaking out about the harsh and segregating conditions they had to navigate on their path to fame and recognition in Hollywood. Hilary Swank is no exception, as she recently opened up about how, at the start of her career, the patriarchal laws of Hollywood hindered her development and growth as an actress. It turns out that the actress was often required to take on roles that were originally written for male actors.
"Thankfully, it's becoming more inclusive. But when I started, it was more patriarchal than ever. And so I was playing roles that were written by men from what a female point of view is, and it wasn't necessarily true. It's not that I don't like being feminine — I just don't like being told how to be feminine," she said in her recent interview with Women’s health.

However, these difficulties didn’t make Swank any less resilient. The actress went on to win two Oscars, proving her undeniable talent and determination. Her journey is a testament to her strength, as she overcame the industry's barriers and established herself as one of Hollywood's most respected performers.
