Arnold Schwarzenegger has worn many hats — action icon, California governor, climate advocate — but the Legacy Award he’s receiving from the South East European Film Festival (SEEfest) isn’t just a look back. Presented on the festival’s 20th anniversary opening night, the honour feels just as much about what he’s still building.
SEEfest highlights his journey from a village in Austria’s Styria region to global stardom, but places special emphasis on his environmental work. Through the USC Schwarzenegger Institute and initiatives like the Austrian World Summit, he’s channelled his platform into long-term advocacy for a greener future — a legacy that continues to evolve.
Accepting the award on his behalf was American Ninja Warrior host Matt Iseman, a frequent collaborator and fellow supporter of Schwarzenegger’s public initiatives. His presence served as a reminder that Schwarzenegger’s impact now spans far beyond the screen.

And that screen, by the way, hasn’t seen the last of him. The former Terminator is currently filming The Man with the Bag, an action-comedy in which he plays Santa Claus opposite Alan Ritchson. Because with Schwarzenegger, legacy never means standing still.
