Cameron Diaz, who recently made her onscreen return in Netflix’s Back in Action, has fans buzzing about the possibility of a sequel to The Mask. The 1994 cult classic, starring Diaz alongside Jim Carrey, remains a fan favorite, and Diaz seems open to reprising her role as Tina Carlyle.
In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Diaz was asked about the idea of revisiting The Mask, and her response was enthusiastic. "If Jim’s on board, I mean, I’ve been riding those coattails from day one," she joked, referring to her legendary co-star, Jim Carrey.
Carrey Is Also Open to Returning
Jim Carrey himself has hinted at the possibility of donning the iconic green mask again. Last month, in an interview with Comicbook.com, the actor shared his thoughts on a potential sequel.

"Oh gosh, you know, it has to be the right idea," Carrey said. "If somebody had the right idea, I guess… It’s not really about the money. I joke about the money… But I never know. You can’t be definite about these things. I said I’d like to retire, but I think I was talking more about power-resting. Because as soon as a good idea comes your way, or a group of people that you really enjoyed working with, it just — things tend to change."
Fans of the original film, directed by Chuck Russell, would undoubtedly love to see Stanley Ipkiss (Carrey) and Tina Carlyle (Diaz) back on the big screen, and these comments have sparked speculation about what could be next for the beloved franchise.
A Charlie’s Angels Reunion on the Horizon?
Diaz didn’t stop at The Mask. When asked about another potential sequel — this time for Charlie’s Angels (2000) — she seemed equally thrilled by the idea. The actress starred alongside Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu, and Bill Murray as Bosley in the original film, which became a major success.

"It would be amazing. It would be really amazing," Diaz said of a possible reunion. Adding to the excitement, her Back in Action co-star Jamie Foxx chimed in, joking that he’d be more than happy to step in as Bosley for a new installment.
"I’m gonna text her [Liu] right now and pitch her Jamie as Bosley," Diaz quipped.
A Legacy Worth Revisiting
With Diaz back in the spotlight and her co-stars expressing interest, fans have plenty to look forward to. Whether it’s Tina Carlyle’s return to the world of The Mask or a new mission for the Charlie’s Angels crew, it’s clear that nostalgia is alive and well in Hollywood.
In the meantime, viewers can catch Diaz’s highly anticipated comeback in Back in Action on Netflix, and maybe start dreaming about what’s next for some of her most iconic roles.
