Netflix has officially greenlit an animated series based on Clash of Clans, the wildly popular mobile game from Finnish developer Supercell. Set in the universe of both Clash of Clans and its strategic spin-off Clash Royale, the yet-untitled show promises to blend medieval mayhem with an irreverent sense of humour. At its core is a plucky but overwhelmed Barbarian, who must lead a mismatched band of outcasts to defend their village — and navigate the comically absurd bureaucracy of war.
The series is being helmed by Fletcher Moules, a director well-acquainted with the Clash world thanks to his work on Supercell’s hit YouTube animations, which have racked up hundreds of millions of views. Writing duties fall to Ron Weiner, whose credits include cult favourites like Futurama and Arrested Development. With animation handled by ICON Creative Studio, the production has assembled a seasoned team capable of delivering both visual flair and comedic punch.
Since its 2012 debut, Clash of Clans has become one of mobile gaming’s most enduring titans, joined in 2016 by Clash Royale. Together, the two games have amassed over 4 billion downloads and an eye-watering 180 billion hours of gameplay — a number that suggests a loyal, global fanbase hungry for more narrative depth.

This announcement joins a growing wave of animated offerings at Netflix, following the recent reveal of the adult comedy Mating Season and upcoming projects from the creators behind BoJack Horseman. For now, fans of the Clash franchise can prepare for a different kind of battlefield — one where comedy, chaos, and cartoon carnage collide.
