Ben Affleck is back — and he’s bringing the chaos. The first behind-the-scenes shots from his upcoming action thriller Animals have just dropped, and they’re nothing short of explosive.
A convoy of trucks, a body sprawled across the asphalt, Affleck firing at point-blank range. Seconds later, he’s on the ground himself, holding a woman in his arms seemingly trying to shield her from harm.
Originally meant to star Matt Damon — who passed on the role to playthe lead role in The Odyssey — Animals is already shaping up to be a high-stakes, high-emotion ride.
The official logline of the film reads: "When the son of L.A. Mayoral Candidate Milo Bradford (Affleck) is kidnapped, he and his wife (Kerry Washington) have just hours to come up with the ransom. With their finances drained by the campaign trail, they’re forced to take matters into their own hands —exposing a side of themselves they never intended to see the light of day. Gillian Anderson plays a fixer, while Steven Yeun stars as the candidate’s campaign manager."
So, the wait might not be long — production on Animals wraps April 16th. But don’t get too comfy just yet: a release date is still under wraps. Patience, as they say, is part of the thrill.
