Timothee Chalamet Ditches the Met (Again) — Here’s What He Did Instead

Kylie Jenner and Timothee Chalamet

While Kylie dazzled solo, Timmy stayed loyal to playoff drama.

Timothee Chalamet chose sneakers over stilettos this year — and no, it wasn’t for a red carpet moment. As fashion’s biggest night unfolded at the 2025 Met Gala, the Dune star was nowhere in sight. Instead, he spent the evening watching the Knicks battle the Celtics in the NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals — with an iPad, a crew of friends, and zero glitter in sight.

His girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, didn’t let his absence slow her down. She appeared solo, as usual flawlessly camera-ready, marking her seventh consecutive Met Gala appearance — but for the second year in a row, without Timothee on her arm.

In fact, just moments before Kylie stepped onto the carpet, Chalamet posted a series of casual snaps to social media. One photo showed him lounging with friends, eyes glued to the game. No tux. No Thom Browne. No drama — at least not the fashion kind.

Despite dating for over two years, the couple have never walked a red carpet together, and the Met Gala is no exception. Chalamet, who last attended the event in 2021, seems to prefer a quieter orbit these days, while Jenner remains a Met Gala mainstay.

So while Kylie shimmered solo under the flashbulbs, Timmy stayed true to his courtside comfort zone. And honestly? That game was pretty cinematic, too.
