For just $ 6 million, the creators of the horror Ready or not (2019) shot one of the most unexpected hits of that year — the box office exceeded 57 million, the project was included in the lists of favorite horror films of many viewers. But, apparently, the sequel will be even cooler: a sequel is being prepared with the telling title Ready or not 2 and the cast there is such that the original nervously smokes on the sidelines.
The star cast of the sequel
The main character Grace (Samara Weaving) returns, as does her on-screen sister (Catherine Newton). But the main surprise is the new faces.:
- Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
- Elijah Wood (Frodo from The Lord of the Rings)
- David Cronenberg is an iconic director (The Fly,) in a rare acting role
- Nestor Carbonel (The Dark Knight)
- Kevin Durand (Vikings)
What is known about the plot?
The directing duo Radio Silence (Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett) promises that the sequel will retain its signature style — a mixture of black comedy, bloody scenes and unexpected twists.
The details are still being kept secret, but the producers hint in the Deadline comment:
"This is for those who were waiting for the sequel, and for those who did not expect it."
Judging by the cast, the Le Dom family has not finished their bloody games yet. Filming has already begun in Toronto. The estimated release date is 2025.
