Guy Ritchie has been stingy with Sting. The renowned director still owes the iconic singer and actor money for his role in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. It turns out that Sting was never paid for his appearance in the film.
According to AP, During the Mobland premiere, Sting, while talking to journalists about Guy Ritchie's legacy, mentioned the unpaid debt with a very serious expression.
"Well, he sees in Guy Ritchie’s way, I’ve had some experience with him, still hasn’t paid me, by the way. He wanted a cheap actor, I’m a cheap actor."

It seems like we can assume it’s part of his signature humor, but who knows — there’s always a grain of truth in every joke, right?
Sting played JD, the father of Eddie (played by Nick Moran), in Guy Ritchie's 1998 film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. JD is a bar owner who becomes inadvertently involved in his son's gambling debts with a crime lord. Sting's casting was influenced by his wife, Trudie Styler, who was instrumental in bringing the project to fruition after being impressed by Ritchie's short film The Hard Case
