Another adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo. Yes, yet another film about betrayal, revenge, and immense wealth. It won’t be easy to create something truly surprising. However, with a fan-favorite star in the lead the film might just have an edge.
Bridgerton alum Regé-Jean Page is set to star in an adaptation of Alexandre Dumas' The Count of Monte Cristo under the banner of independent production company Department M. According to Deadline, the actor will not only take on the lead role but also produce the film alongside his producing partner, Emily Brown, through their production company, A Mighty Stranger.
"Bold, adventurous storytelling with heart is the reason I got into this business, and is the backbone of everything we’re making," said Page in an interview with the publication.

"Working alongside incredible collaborators, A Mighty Stranger is building a slate of creative-led projects that will broaden the cultural lens through pure entertainment. That’s why we’re so excited to be bringing The Count Of Monte Cristo to global audiences, unlocking the depths of Dumas’ work in ways not seen yet."
