For his latest role, Mark Wahlberg chose not to take the easy route. His transformation for Flight Risk left his wife stunned.
Known for his dedication to authenticity, Wahlberg, like many actors, is willing to make bold sacrifices for the sake of his character. This time, he went as far as cutting his hair and embracing a daring new look, all in the name of staying true to the essence of his role.
In an interview with People, he shared that he chose to shave his head daily during filming Flight Risk, directed by Mel Gibson, opting for authenticity over wearing a bald cap.
“There was no bald cap. I shaved the middle and left the horseshoe around the sides. We just shaved it” he says. "They would shave the top as close to the scalp as possible every day, obviously, because we didn't have any stubble or anything. So I just hid it with a hat. "But the most priceless thing was seeing my wife's face when I took my hat off after getting the hair cut for work that day,” he says.
In Flight Risk, Mark Wahlberg plays Jack, a complex character dealing with tough situations and moral challenges. His journey shows both vulnerability and strength as he faces the consequences of his past actions.
