A new heroine is ready to soar—and her feet have just touched ground. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, the second official entry in James Gunn’s rebooted DC Universe, has wrapped production. And while plot details remain tightly sealed, Milly Alcock, the House of the Dragon breakout star, couldn’t be more thrilled to don the red cape.
"It’s a whirlwind. It’s a crazy, wonderful life," Alcock told ExtraTV. "I’m very, very excited. I think it’s actually gonna be a really good movie."
Alcock steps into the role of Kara Zor-El, Superman’s cousin, previously portrayed by Sasha Calle. But this isn’t the wide-eyed ingénue of earlier adaptations. Based on Tom King’s emotionally rich comic run, the film promises a grittier, intergalactic tale — part sci-fi odyssey, part soul-searching road trip.

With Matthias Schoenaerts cast as the deadly Krem of the Yellow Hills, and the film reportedly blending cosmic wonder with moral grey zones, Supergirl might just steal the spotlight from her more famous cousin. If Gunn delivers on the comic’s tone, we’re in for a space saga that cuts deeper than any Kryptonite. One thing’s for sure — this isn’t your childhood’s Supergirl.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is scheduled for theatrical release on June 26, 2026, as part of DCU’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.
