Stepping Into Superman's Shoes: David Corenswet Unfazed by Fan Criticism, Focuses on One Thing

David Corenswet

Certainly, replacing a successful actor’s performance is never an easy task.

It’s hard to always be compared to the irreplaceable Henry Cavill and his beloved portrayal of Superman. But apparently, James Gunn knows best, and the new Superman, David Corenswet, seems unfazed by fans' frustration and disappointment.

For the actor, there's only one thing that matters — to meet the director’s expectations and give his best performance.

During his recent interview with GQ Italia, Corenswet clearly demonstrated that he knows exactly what he’s doing and where he's headed.

"I focus on doing my best for the director, the crew and my colleagues who have worked at the top of their abilities for months or years. If I do well for them, I think I've done everything possible."

When James Gunn and Peter Safran took over the DC franchise and announced a soft reboot, many fans were skeptical about the changes. However, the upcoming films are beginning to suggest that this could be the fresh start fans were hoping for. Gunn has consistently demonstrated his ability to turn any project into a major success, and his upcoming Superman film may very well mark the beginning of a new era for DC that will leave a lasting impact.

With the release of the Superman official trailer, Gunn's vision for the rebooted franchise has already received a positive response from viewers. This new chapter, titled Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, promises to reshape the DC universe in ways fans won’t soon forget.
