Conrad Harrigan is a family man, and if you mess with his family — well, you’d better start praying. That’s how the first official trailer for Guy Ritchie’s new crime drama MobLand kicks off, with Pierce Brosnan’s commanding voice narrating. Brosnan plays the head of a powerful crime family, whose story unfolds on March 30.
"We shake the right hands, break the wrong ones. We don’t ask—we take. When someone forgets their place, I’ve got a man for that — Hardy, problem solved. My wife’s the brain behind the charm. She holds me together, and that makes her the most dangerous of all. So, are you with us or against us? Because power... power is a hungry thing. And there’s always some rat bastard looking to take what’s mine," says Brosnan’s stern, warning voice.
The sharp mind and backbone of the family — who also happens to be its most dangerous member — is played by the incredible Helen Mirren. And, of course, where would we be without the one and only Tom Hardy? His character is the family’s fixer, the man who makes impossible problems disappear.
The series also features Vinnie Jones — yes, that Vinnie Jones — the towering hitman Big Chris from Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch. Unlike Jones and Hardy, whom Ritchie has worked with long before (RocknRolla in Hardy’s case), this marks his first collaboration with Brosnan and Mirren.
Well then, fingers crossed — let’s see what kind of masterpiece Paramount and Guy Ritchie have in store for us this time.
