Hulu has released the official trailer for Season 2 of Nine Perfect Strangers, with Nicole Kidman returning as the enigmatic wellness guru Masha Dmitrichenko. This season brings together nine new strangers for a mysterious healing retreat set in the Austrian Alps. The trailer opens with a voiceover explaining that these nine individuals were “chosen under bizarre circumstances” to participate in the intense experience.
Alongside Kidman, the new cast features Henry Golding, Lena Olin, Annie Murphy, Christine Baranski, King Princess, Murray Bartlett, Mark Strong, and Aras Aydin. In one striking scene, Masha welcomes her guests in a lavish living room and declares,
“I invited you all here because sometimes you shouldn’t deal with pain gently.”
One guest questions if it’s a spa retreat, to which Baranski’s character quips, “She’s going to bleach our brains, darling.”
Masha promises a cleansing of the mind to help her guests recharge and rediscover inspiration. According to the official synopsis: nine strangers connected in unexpected ways are invited by Masha to a transformational week-long retreat where she pushes them — and herself — to the edge in pursuit of healing.
Created by David E. Kelley and produced by Bruna Papandrea’s Made Up Stories alongside Kidman’s Blossom Films and Fifth Season (which also handles distribution), Nine Perfect Strangers Season 2 premieres on Hulu on May 21 with two episodes.
