A new entry may be quietly forming in the Quentin Tarantino cinematic universe — if the latest industry buzz is to be believed. A recent Production Weekly listing has sparked speculation that the director’s next feature is gearing up for production this December, with Brad Pitt, Uma Thurman, and Samuel L. Jackson reportedly attached.
Though there’s been no official announcement, industry insider Jeff Sneider mentioned on The Hot Mic podcast that a new Tarantino movie was circulating around town. The twist? It’s reportedly not The Movie Critic, the project that the director shelved last year after a completed script and early pre-production buzz.
Just two months ago, Tarantino told press he was "in no hurry to actually jump into production", explaining that he was waiting until his son turned six so he could visit the set. At the time, Tarantino also said he was writing a play, which might "probably be the next thing" he tackled. "If it’s a smash hit?" he added, "It might be my last movie."

That makes this sudden spark of production talk all the more surprising. The Movie Critic, once expected to be his final film, was reportedly rewritten, then abandoned. Still, Sony International president Steven O’Dell hinted late last year that the studio had picked up Tarantino’s next project — though no details were given.
With Tarantino keeping his plans close to the chest, the truth behind this rumored production remains unclear. But with names like Pitt, Thurman, and Jackson being whispered once again — and a potential shoot just months away — fans have every reason to be curious (and excited) about what may be Quentin Tarantino’s true final chapter.
