If you thought Supacell’s first season was intense, buckle up — the second chapter is shaping up to be even more electrifying. After captivating audiences worldwide and earning a flawless 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Netflix has officially greenlit Season 2 of this groundbreaking British superhero series.
The series, created by rapper and filmmaker Rapman, follows five ordinary Black South Londoners who, linked by a family history of sickle cell disease, suddenly develop extraordinary powers. As they grapple with their newfound abilities, they must also confront a shadowy organization intent on controlling them. Season 1 ended on a cliffhanger, with Michael (played by Tosin Cole ) vowing, "When I come back, they’re all gonna f***g pay," setting the stage for a high-stakes sequel.

In an exclusive interview with RadioTimes, Rapman shared his vision for the series:
"I always feel like Black stories ain't told enough,” Rapman told RadioTimes.com. "We get a show once every few years, so it was important that when I got my opportunity to do a Netflix show, you saw all different sides of the Black experience: the van driver, the single dad, the street kid, the nurse... just show all different cultures of the Black experience that I don't normally feel like I see in the UK on TV."
He also revealed his ambitious plans for the series:
"I’ve got a three-season story in my head. I know where... what the story is up to season 3."

While a release date for Season 2 hasn't been announced, the show's immense popularity — topping Netflix's global charts and amassing over 25 million views in its first month — suggests that the wait will be worth it. Fans are eagerly anticipating the next installment, with one expressing, "The best news I've heard all day," upon hearing of the renewal.
Stay tuned for more updates as the Supacell saga continues to unfold, promising more action, deeper character development, and a thrilling exploration of power and identity.
