Is it even possible to stop him, or is this just another Mission: Impossible turned reality? For Tom Cruise, the line between madness and mastery is a runway — and he’s walking on it. Literally.
The star was so physically shattered after shooting one of the wildest stunts yet for Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning that his crew had to carry him off the wing of a flying biplane. Yes, off the wing. Cruise spent the entire day soaring through the air, then walking mid-flight on a moving plane, battered by wind, propeller blasts and flying debris.
"It beat the hell out of him," reveals stunt maestro Wade Eastwood to The Times. "The wind hitting him, and the blast of the propeller, particles hitting him... It was the hardest workout you could ever do. Many times we were carrying him off the wing because he was so tired."
And yet, he smiled.
"Tom doesn’t show fear, Tom shows competence," Eastwood added. "He’s always positive, he’ll always put on a smile, and he genuinely enjoys it."
Eastwood, who’s worked with Cruise since Edge of Tomorrow, says even after 500 skydives and 13,000 motocross jumps for Dead Reckoning Part One, there’s no sign of Cruise retiring.

"No, no chance" Eastwood insists. "He’s a machine. He acts like a 20-year-old."
Some missions really are… impossible to give up.
