When Michiel Huisman played Daario Naharis in the fourth season of Game of Thrones, many found it strange. After all, actor Ed Skrein, who played Daario in the third season, looked much more brutal and daring, this is exactly how readers of the books imagined him. At the time, the studio explained the replacement by a "scheduling conflict", since the actor allegedly left to film The Transporter. However, years later, Skrein himself dispelled this myth.
Leaving is not staying
In one of his interviews, Ed Skrein admitted that his departure was not voluntary:
"My plan was to stay on Game of Thrones until the end. That was always the plan. But politics led to us breaking up."
The actor did not specify what kind of "politics" played a role. However, he emphasized that he did not leave of his own free will and did not want to lose this role.
Fans still argue who was the best Daario, but one thing is clear: Skrein gave the image more charisma and danger than his successor. Although the actor himself was not left without work after leaving, a couple of years later he played the main villain Ajax in Deadpool, but Transporter, for which he allegedly left the series, turned out to be a failure.
Well, no matter how his career turned out, now we know: Daario was not replaced because of an overly busy schedule.
