A full trailer has been unveiled for the film, which is scheduled for release on March 28, 2025, through Amazon/MGM. Expect the familiar as Statham takes on a group of human traffickers in a one-man wrecking crew mission.
Co-written by none other than Sylvester Stallone alongside Ayer, the film is based on Chuck Dixon’s 2014 novel 'Levon’s Trade.' It follows a special ops veteran who is compelled to come out of retirement to rescue a young woman in peril.
While Ayer is preoccupied with his cut of Suicide Squad, he continues to create films. He is set to direct the survival thriller In the Heart of the Beast for Paramount, with Damien Chazelle attached as a producer. Ayer is also working on a long-gestating remake of The Dirty Dozen.
Initially recognized for his successful screenplays (Training Day, The Fast and the Furious), Ayer quickly made a name for himself as a director with gritty films like Harsh Times, End of Watch, and the underrated Fury. However, since Suicide Squad, his career has faced challenges, receiving critical backlash for films like Bright, Sabotage, and The Tax Collector.
