As in previous years, Netflix has big plans involving a long list of highly anticipated premieres, including some from the horror genre. While many of these projects still don’t have exact release dates, the streaming platform promises to release them this year. Here's a list of horror movies and series to watch out for on Netflix soon.
Frankenstein
One of the most awaited films of the new year, Frankenstein will be yet another adaptation of Mary Shelley’s novel. Guillermo del Toro has been reimagining this story for several years. The film is currently in post-production, so there’s no confirmed release date yet.
Midnight Sun

Fans of Twilight, this is your moment — the globally beloved love story between a simple girl and a vampire is returning to screens more than 10 years after the release of the last movie in the franchise. This time, Netflix is adapting Stephenie Meyer's companion novel Midnight Sun, which retells the events of Twilight from Edward Cullen's perspective. While no release date has been announced yet, the project will be an animated series.
Something Very Bad Is About to Happen

Little is known about this series so far, except that the main action will take place following a wedding celebration that ends in tragedy. Among the producers are the Duffer Brothers, famous for their work on Netflix's hit Stranger Things. The lead roles in this upcoming series will be played by Camila Morrone and Adam DiMarco.
The Watcher

Based on true events, The Watcher was a massive hit on Netflix and somehow earned a second season, even though the story reached a logical conclusion in the first. There has been virtually no news about filming or production over the past year. However, loyal fans are still hopeful that the creators will surprise Netflix viewers with a new season of The Watcher this year.
All of Us Are Dead

The sensational South Korean zombie series first premiered on Netflix in 2022. Since then, the production of its second season has been significantly delayed. While there is no official update yet, fans of the show are hoping that filming will wrap up this year — though this likely means the premiere will be scheduled for late 2025.
