George R.R. Martin Has Some Big News to Share — But It's Not What You Might Think

Global Look Press — George R.R. Martin and still from the series 'House of the Dragon' (2022)

The author of A Song of Ice and Fire continues to fight procrastination, but is still preparing something new.

Although many fans of Game of Thrones and the George R.R. Martin series have long since given up hope for the final two parts of the saga, some continue to wait — even more than 15 years after the last book in the series was released.

A few months ago, Martin himself reassured fans that he was gradually approaching the end of The Winds of Winter, but there is no news on this matter yet and it is unlikely to be expected in the near future — although the writer recently announced that he will soon tell about something very important.

George R.R. Martin is preparing some kind of announcement — but it is definitely not related to The Winds of Winter

Fans once again raised a fuss when the writer announced on his blog that on April 8 or 9 he will tell about something very interesting — however, Martin immediately clarified that this has nothing to do with The Winds of Winter and asked fans not to spread groundless rumors. However, the writer did not stop there and admitted that he was tired of having to give his comment every now and then and refute yet another rumor that he had finished work on The Winds of Winter.

'House of the dragon' still

Martin also clarified that the book is still far from publication and he will definitely tell about it someday — but not now, because the news that the writer is keeping secret for now has to do with something completely different.

Meanwhile, work on the new season of House of the Dragon is in full swing

While Martin himself is trying to eliminate everything that could potentially distract him from working on The Winds of Winter, the House of the Dragon team is also not standing still, just recently, the showrunner of the series Ryan Condal announced that filming of new episodes has already begun, and this time viewers will definitely be able to see the key events Martin told in Fire and Blood.

The premiere date of the third season is still unknown, but is supposed to take place in the summer of 2026.
