MGM+ has set July 13 for the debut of The Institute, a thrilling new series inspired by Stephen King’s 2019 novel.

The streaming platform has also unveiled a collection of first-look images and promotional artwork.

Directed by the acclaimed Jack Bender and written by Benjamin Cavell (The Stand), this eight-episode series centers on Luke Ellis, a gifted teenager portrayed by Joe Freeman, who is abducted and finds himself at The Institute — a mysterious facility where children with extraordinary abilities are held. Meanwhile, in a nearby town, former police officer Tim Jamieson, played by Ben Barnes , seeks a fresh start, but his past soon intertwines with Luke’s harrowing journey.

The cast also features Mary-Louise Parker as Ms. Sigsby, alongside Simon Miller (Kalisha), Hannah Galway (Wendy), Julian Richings (Stackhouse), Robert Joy (Dr. Hendricks), and Martin Roach (Chief Ashworth).
