Pether Dinklage has transformed into the Toxic Avenger! Check out new footage from the remake of the cult film from the 1980s.
The plot remains the same: a janitor falls into chemical waste, becomes disfigured, but gains superpowers with which he takes revenge on the Garbinger brothers and their gang. Lloyd Kaufman co-directed and wrote the story for the 1984 cult classic The Toxic Avenger, which starred Mitch Cohen and featured makeup effects by Jennifer Aspinall. This groundbreaking film led to a franchise that includes four sequels, a Toxic Crusaders animated series, a Marvel comic book, a video game, and even a stage musical. In discussing his new vision for the character, Blair stated to EW,
"Our aim was to remain faithful to the essence of Lloyd's original creature, as seen through the lens of Jennifer Aspinall and Mitch Cohen's work, while also drawing inspiration from the aesthetic of the 'Toxic Crusaders' cartoon. We wanted to create something fresh, quirky, and endearing with Toxie's design. I’m thrilled with what Millenium FX achieved—it's a blend of human and mutant, but ultimately, it embodies a heartwarming spirit."

The antagonists were played by Elijah Wood and Kevin Bacon. The film debuted at Fantastic Fest in 2023, but due to its high age rating, it remained without a distributor for a long time.
