The teaser for Predator: Badlands has landed, revealing a bold new direction for the franchise. Directed by Prey’s Dan Trachtenberg and starring Elle Fanning, the film flips the familiar dynamic: the Predator — now known as Dek — teams up with a human scientist named Thia to survive a dangerous alien world. The film is set for theatrical release on November 7.
Trachtenberg’s previous Predator entry, Prey, was a surprise streaming hit in 2022. Badlands continues his reinvention of the series, this time bringing it back to the big screen. The teaser suggests a film less about bloodshed and more about survival, trust, and shifting power dynamics.
Beyond Badlands, Trachtenberg is also set to debut Predator: Killer of Killers, a three-part animated anthology launching on Hulu June 6, and is developing Prey 2. The Predator universe, it seems, is evolving — and fast.
