David Fincher’s sequel to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is shifting into gear, and with the latest casting news, things are beginning to take shape. Elizabeth Debicki and Scott Caan have officially joined the ensemble of The Continuing Adventures of Cliff Booth, a spin-off centred on Brad Pitt’s laid-back stuntman-turned-Hollywood fixer. With production set to begin in July, it seems Fincher’s vision for Quentin Tarantino’s universe is becoming more vivid — and more unpredictable.
Caan, best known for his long-running role in Hawaii Five-0 and the Ocean's Eleven trilogy, brings a certain old-school grit to the table. Debicki, fresh off her acclaimed turn in The Crown, adds a dose of elegance and steel. Together, they join Pitt in a story that reportedly features Filipino gangsters infiltrating the film industry — a plotline that includes martial arts, mayhem, and likely more than a few bloodied noses.
While Tarantino himself isn’t directing this time around, he has penned the screenplay, handing the reins to Fincher, whose track record suggests a more clinical, shadow-soaked interpretation of Hollywood chaos. Booth, now operating as a fixer behind studio gates, will find himself navigating not just egos and scandals, but criminal syndicates with impressive combat skills.

Though Leonardo DiCaprio is rumoured to appear in a small role — and a $3 million offer from Netflix suggests that rumour has legs — nothing has been confirmed. What is certain, however, is that Netflix is going all in on this curious collision of crime, cinema, and charisma.
