Daniel Radcliffe is set to star alongside Tracy Morgan in an upcoming NBC comedy pilot, marking another intriguing choice in the actor’s increasingly diverse career. The show, which comes from the creative minds behind 30 Rock, promises to blend sharp humor with an unconventional premise.
What’s the Show About?
The untitled single-camera comedy follows a disgraced former football player (played by Morgan) who is determined to restore his reputation. Radcliffe will portray Arthur Tobin, an acclaimed filmmaker who moves into the athlete’s mansion to direct an immersive documentary chronicling his comeback journey.
The project is helmed by 30 Rock alums Robert Carlock and Sam Means, who will serve as writers and executive producers. Tina Fey is also on board as an executive producer, further solidifying the show’s comedic pedigree. Carlock is producing under his Bevel Gears banner, with SNL veteran Rhys Thomas directing the pilot. The project is backed by Universal Television, where Fey has an overall deal.

Radcliffe’s Growing Comedy Resume
While Radcliffe is best known for his decade-long tenure as Harry Potter, he has spent recent years carving out a niche in comedy. He previously collaborated with Fey, Carlock, and Means in Netflix’s interactive special Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. the Reverend. His other comedic projects include the anthology series Miracle Workers and films such as Swiss Army Man, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, and The Lost City.
As of now, the NBC pilot is still in its early stages, and whether it will be picked up for a full series remains to be seen. However, with a powerhouse creative team and two dynamic leads in Radcliffe and Morgan, this project is already generating buzz.
