The new season of The Rehearsal has received high initial reviews from critics. The rating on Rotten Tomatoes is currently 100% “fresh” based on nine ratings, and on Metacritic — 94 points based on eight ratings.
“A serious triumph,” wrote the headline of one of the reviews.
The continuation of the Nathan Fielder series pleases with good humor, ingenuity and bold decisions, critics note. In their opinion, this is one of the funniest shows on television, which raises the stakes and also turns out to be insane and absurd in a good way.
However, one of the reviews singled out “ancillary story” among the shortcomings. According to the author of the text, Fielder's story passed the peak of tension already in the first season, which is why the sequel, although extremely exciting, feels like a spin-off of the main series.
