Kevin Hart and Tim Story are back in action — this time bringing their signature comedic chemistry to Netflix. The duo, known for box office hits like Think Like a Man and the Ride Along films, is teaming up for a new streaming comedy titled 72 Hours.
In the film, Hart plays a 40-year-old executive desperate to save his faltering career. When he’s accidentally added to a group chat for a bunch of twenty-somethings planning a wild bachelor party, he decides to tag along for a chaotic, three-day adventure. The setup promises plenty of fish-out-of-water humor, generational clashes, and classic Hart-style comedic chaos.
The script comes from a solid lineup of comedy writers: Matt Mider & Kevin Burrows, along with Jon Hurwitz & Hayden Schlossberg — the latter duo best known as the creative minds behind Cobra Kai.

A Familiar Formula with a Fresh Spin
The project marks Hart and Story’s fifth collaboration, following a run of crowd-pleasing comedies that have grossed over $445 million worldwide. Story also directed segments of Hart’s stand-up specials, starting with Laugh at My Pain in 2011. The two have built a well-oiled comedy machine — and 72 Hours looks to keep that streak alive.
72 Hours also continues Hart’s ongoing relationship with Netflix. He’s previously starred in several high-profile titles for the streamer, including the heist thriller Lift, the buddy comedy Me Time, the heartfelt Fatherhood, and the action-comedy The Man from Toronto. In 2023, Netflix also released the special Kevin Hart & Chris Rock: Headliners Only and the live comedy event The Roast of Tom Brady, hosted by Hart.
With a proven comedic duo, a current cultural hook, and a platform known for spotlighting global comedy, 72 Hours is shaping up to be another crowd-pleaser in Hart’s growing Netflix catalog.
