Colin Farrell as 'The Penguin' to Appear in 'The Batman: Part II': Along with Season 2 of His Own Series

Following the successful airing of HBO's The Penguin first season, Colin Farrell recently announced that he has signed on to reprise his role in two additional films directed by Matt Reeves in the Batman franchis

Collin is expected to feature in "five or six scenes" in The Batman: Part II, which is scheduled to begin filming in mid-2025.

Meanwhile, Reeves has confirmed that discussions have officially commenced regarding a second season of Penguin, which received widespread acclaim and audience love last November (via WoR).

"Yeah, we’re talking to [showrunner] Lauren [LeFranc] about doing another season. That was a special experience. I just feel really fortunate. These characters don’t belong to me; they belong to the world. It comes down to whether you can approach them in a way that expresses something personal."

The spinoff series, set in the aftermath of crime boss Carmine Falcone's death, centers on the villain Oswald Cobblepot, also known as The Penguin, portrayed by Colin Farrell. The narrative follows Oz as he attempts to take control of Gotham's underworld amid the power vacuum left by his former boss's demise.

Farrell, nearly unrecognizable due to heavy prosthetic makeup, is deeply committed to this character and his backstory, which contributes to a compelling spinoff. The first episode has attracted nearly 20 million viewers since its premiere on September 19, and the series finale is poised to match and exceed that number soon.

The Penguin stands as the most-watched debut season of any current HBO or Max title globally, trailing only behind House of the Dragon and The Last of Us.
