Although there is still more than a year left before the release of Christopher Nolan's new film, this time based on Homer's poem The Odyssey, the film, oddly enough, is already starting to receive positive reviews.
Nolan's film has been predicted to be a great success many times before — all thanks to the intriguing subject matter and the stellar cast, which includs Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Charlize Theron, Anne Hathaway and many others. And yet very little is known about the film and the distribution of roles, but one of the producers of the Universal studio recently hinted that The Odyssey has every chance of becoming a cult film.
Universal already considers Nolan's The Odyssey a cinematic masterpiece
The production of the film officially started just a few weeks ago, but already at the filming stage it can be considered one of the main releases of the coming years, according to the head of the Universal distribution department, Jim Orr.

At the recent CinemaCon, the producer praised Nolan's next work, calling The Odyssey a unique cinematic masterpiece that the author of the original poem, the Greek poet Homer, could well be proud of. Orr's words caused a mixed reaction among the audience in attendance, according to many insiders, such recognition was met with a smile.
And although the producer did not reveal any new details about the upcoming epic story, he once again hinted that the film should definitely not fail at the box office, mainly due to the big name of the director and the participation of a whole list of Hollywood stars.
Future viewers of The Odyssey were also not impressed by Orr's words
A recent update from the producer added to the collection of promising predictions of the resounding success of the future film, but even this is not yet able to fully convince the potential audience.
Thus, the Internet was skeptical about the words of the Universal producer, recalling that the praise could well be part of a premature promotion of the future film, and there is nothing unusual in the fact that the producer is so delighted with his own film. Others took Orr's confessions as a reason for a joke, wondering how exactly he was able to travel back in time and watch a film that had already been shot and edited.
The Odyssey itself, meanwhile, is scheduled for release abroad on July 17, 2026.
