Chris Pine is set to lead and produce Run the Night, an action-packed thriller that puts him in a uniquely vulnerable position: naked, hunted, and alone on the streets of Amsterdam. Accused of betraying the Penose — the Dutch criminal underworld — his character, a seemingly unremarkable banker, finds himself dumped in the city centre with nothing but a $10 million bounty on his head and hours to survive before sunrise.
The film marks the feature directorial debut of Robert Alonzo, a seasoned second unit director and stunt expert with credits on Deadpool, The Batman, and multiple Marvel projects. Alonzo’s reputation for kinetic, grounded action suggests Run the Night will deliver tension as much through its physicality as its plot. Lionsgate has picked up worldwide rights and will begin sales at the Cannes market, where the film is already generating early interest.
Written by John Glenn and Alex Davidson, the story promises a sharp twist on the 'one man against the city' formula. As the hunted banker tears through Amsterdam’s alleys and canals, he must not only outwit the gangs tracking him but also uncover who set him up — and why. It’s a mission that, predictably, reveals he was never just a number-cruncher.

Speaking about the film, Pine said, "I love this story, character, and reuniting with Rob" said Pine, who worked with Alonzo on 2009’s Star Trek. "There are so many places for this character to go, and I’m excited about the possibilities of bringing him to life on the big screen."
If the premise is anything to go by, he won’t have much time to catch his breath — and neither will we.
