IGN has an exclusive reveal of four new photos from Netflix’s upcoming film The Old Guard 2, a sequel to the 2020 hit based on Greg Rucka's graphic novel series.
In this sequel, the stakes are significantly higher for Andy, who is now mortal.
“There’s a very real possibility that she could die during any mission,” Theron shared via email.
The dynamics within the group have shifted since the first film; Andy has lost her immortality, Nile (KiKi Layne) has become immortal, and Booker (Matthias Schoenaerts) has been exiled. As a result, Andy’s leadership style evolves as she dedicates her remaining time to making a positive impact.

Alongside Theron, Layne, and Schoenaerts, Chiwetel Ejiofor returns as Copley, with Marwan Kenzari and Luca Marinelli reprising their roles as Joe and Nicky. New cast members include Uma Thurman in an undisclosed role and Henry Golding as Tuah. Directed by Victoria Mahoney from a screenplay by Rucka and Sarah L. Walker, The Old Guard 2 premieres on Netflix on July 2, 2025.
