The 60-year-old star was seen on Sunday, Dec. 8, on the movie set, celebrating with champagne alongside co-star Javier Bardem and Formula One racers Charles Leclerc and George Russell during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Photographs captured Pitt dressed in an all-white racing suit, grinning while holding an open champagne bottle. Bardem stood nearby, lifting a trophy in triumph, as Leclerc and Russell playfully showered the actors with champagne. Pitt's black cap, marked with "1st" on the side, added to the scene’s authenticity.
Earlier that week, on Thursday, Dec. 5, Pitt was spotted filming ahead of the Grand Prix, wearing a similar costume and signing an autograph on a baseball cap.

The movie, directed by Top Gun: Maverick filmmaker Joseph Kosinski, follows Sonny Hayes (played by Pitt), a former F1 driver making a comeback with APXGP, a fictional team. The cast includes Damson Idris as his teammate and Bardem as Ruben, the team’s owner. Other cast members include Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, and Samson Kayo.
Kosinski also serves as a producer, alongside Pitt, Jerry Bruckheimer, Chad Oman, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner. Seven-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton has joined as a producer through his film and TV production company.
A teaser trailer released in July 2024 gave audiences a sneak peek of the film, which has continued to use real F1 events as filming locations throughout the year. Pitt was also seen filming scenes at the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix. The movie will feature 10 real F1 teams, along with actors portraying their drivers.
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer shared with PEOPLE that Pitt trained rigorously for four to five months to prepare for the role. However, when asked about the actor’s driving speeds, Bruckheimer playfully declined to answer: “The insurance company will kill me.”
F1 is set to hit theaters and IMAX on June 27, 2025.
