Pop superstar Ariana Grande is set to make her acting return in the upcoming Meet the Parents 4, joining legendary stars Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller. Universal Pictures is behind the project, with Jane Rosenthal and De Niro producing through Tribeca Productions, and Stiller producing alongside John Lesher via Red Hour Films. Hamburg will produce through Particular Pictures.
The original Meet the Parents film, released in 2000, was a massive hit, grossing over 330 million worldwide and spawning successful sequels — Meet the Fockers and Little Fockers — which together earned over 1.13 billion globally. The franchise centered on the comedic chaos surrounding family introductions and wedding plans, with Stiller’s character navigating his future father-in-law’s scrutiny and De Niro’s iconic tough-guy persona turned comedic.
While plot details are under wraps, sources reveal that Grande will play the fiancée of Stiller and Polo’s character’s son, who gets engaged to a formidable woman. The film will explore family dynamics and romantic entanglements with a fresh cast twist.
Grande, who recently earned an Oscar nomination for her role as Glinda in Wicked, has a strong acting background from her Nickelodeon days in Victorious. Her performance in Wicked: For Good, arriving in theaters November 2025.
Despite her rising fame as a music icon, Grande has been selective with her acting projects recently, passing on several offers from major studios to focus on comedy roles she truly wants to pursue.
