Are You Hungry for Comedy Thrillers in the Spirit of Tarantino? Catch a New Film About a Fan Who Has Gone Crazy

Still from the film 'Borderline'

From the description it is immediately clear that viewers are in for something special.

What do you get when you cross a black comedy with a story about crazy obsession? The correct answer is the film Borderline.

The directorial debut of Jimmy Warden, the screenwriter of Cocaine Bear, proves that even the most ridiculous situation can turn into a deadly dangerous performance.

What is the film Borderline about?

Los Angeles, 90s. Inconsolable fan of pop star Sofia (Samara Weaving) Paul Durson (Ray Nicholson) is sure that they have true love. Obsession leads him to the singer's house, where he wounds a security guard, arranges a spa day for himself in her jacuzzi and then voluntarily surrenders to the police. Six months later, he escapes from a psychiatric clinic along with other psychos and goes after his "bride".

Ray Nicholson, Jack Nicholson's son, naturally cosplays his father in the film, his Paul is both frightening and pitiful. Sofia, played by Samara Weaving, is a classic pop diva who turns out to be stronger than she seems. Alba Baptista and Patrick Cox complement this psychopathic ensemble, adding not only brutality to the plot, but also a portion of hilarious absurdity.

Borderline is a film that you want to quote

Borderline balances on the edge between a tough thriller and a sitcom, in which every joke is followed by a bloody denouement. Signature dialogues, absurd situations and excellent musical accompaniment, all this makes the film ideal entertainment for fans of the genre.

Conclusion: this is clearly not a hit, but it is definitely a good one for those who missed crazy thrillers in the style of Tarantino.
