Adele Exarkopoulos reunites with her first love? What we know about "Broken Hearts" drama

In theaters on January 30.

The film distribution company Capella Film has released a dubbed trailer for the romantic drama "Broken Hearts," starring Adèle Exarchopoulos and François Civil. Exarchopoulos gained fame for her title role in the acclaimed film "Blue Is the Warmest Color" (2013), while Civil may be familiar to audiences for his role as d'Artagnan in the action-adventure film "The Three Musketeers: D'Artagnan" (2023).

The story follows a young man named Clotter who falls in love with his shy classmate, Jackie. However, the couple's happiness is shattered by circumstances. It turns out that Clotter becomes involved in criminal activities. After becoming a victim of a fateful accident and betrayal, Clotter spends many years in prison. Upon his release, he (Civil) goes to visit his beloved (Exarchopoulos), only to find out that she has gotten married. Despite this, Jackie still loves Clotter and suffers from the fate that has been imposed upon her. Jackie and Clotter fight for their love, confronting enemies from their past and the new life that Jackie has built.

The film is directed by Gilles Lellouche ("The Unstoppables"). He co-wrote the screenplay with Audrey Diwan, known for her film "Happening" (2021), which won the top award at the Venice Film Festival. Ahmed Hamidi and Julien Lambroschini also contributed to the screenplay. The film is based on the novel by Neville Thompson, "Jackie Loves Jonser, You See?"
