77 Million for the Weekend, But it’s Too Early to Rejoice: The 8th Part of 'Mission Impossible' Breaks All Records

Mission Impossible 8 still

When Tom Cruise makes the impossible possible, but is it enough to cover the $400 million cost?

The film Mission: Impossible 8 opened at the American box office with an impressive amount - $ 77 million in the first weekend. This is the best result among all parts of the popular franchise with Tom Cruise in the lead role.

The eighth part became truly ambitious: production and marketing cost the Paramount studio almost 400 million dollars. The plot focuses on the attempts of Ethan Hunt and his team to stop an out-of-control artificial intelligence that threatens the world order.

Viewers can expect the return of old familiar characters, impressive stunts and signature dynamics in the film. Cruise himself again performs most of the stunts himself, including scenes with a parachute and a motorcycle on the edge of a cliff.

What's next? The worldwide box office of Final Reckoning has already exceeded 190 million dollars. However, due to the record budget, the film will have to withstand competition from other summer blockbusters. Analysts note that in order to become profitable, the project needs to collect at least 600 million worldwide.

But for now, the start inspires optimism - viewers are actively going to the cinema, and critics praise the film for its scale, drive and spectacular scenes. But this is only the first mission: the franchise has a fight for payback ahead.
