The Four Horsemen are back — and they've brought reinforcements. Lionsgate has unveiled the first official trailer for Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, the long-awaited third instalment in the slick magician-heist franchise. But in true Horsemen fashion, the studio didn’t just drop the trailer — they pulled off a real-world stunt in the heart of New York City, handing out a jaw-dropping $250,000 in digital cash during a Times Square spectacle.
Onlookers were drawn in by a giant billboard flashing the phrase "Now You See Me" and a live countdown alongside a phone number. Passersby who called or texted were in for more than just a gimmick. As the timer hit zero, the sign dramatically changed to "Now You Don’t," and lucky participants received both a link to the new trailer and instant cash rewards — all courtesy of the Horsemen themselves (or rather, Lionsgate’s marketing wizards).
The trailer reveals Jesse Eisenberg’s J. Daniel Atlas recruiting a new generation of illusionists for what he promises will be "a trick that is bigger and better than anything you have ever seen." Among the fresh faces are Justice Smith and Dominic Sessa, who joined the Times Square stunt in person to greet fans and add an extra touch of magic to the proceedings.
Returning cast members include Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, and Dave Franco, reprising their roles as the enigmatic Four Horsemen. Joining the ensemble this time are Rosamund Pike and Morgan Freeman, adding extra gravitas — and mischief — to the illusion-heavy narrative. According to Lionsgate, the film will feature "mind-melding twists, turns, surprises, and magic unlike anything ever captured on film."
Directed by Ruben Fleischer, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t is slated for release on 14 November 2025, just in time to mystify audiences during the Thanksgiving season. If this trailer stunt is anything to go by, the franchise’s third act may be its most spellbinding yet.
