Story & Adaptations

Baek Sa-eon, Korea’s youngest presidential spokesman, comes from a prestigious political family. His past roles include war correspondent, hostage negotiator, and news anchor. Three years ago, he entered a distant, convenience-based marriage with Hong Hee-ju, a mute sign language interpreter and the adopted daughter of a newspaper proprietor. Their cold relationship takes a drastic turn when Hee-ju is kidnapped, forcing them to confront their true feelings.

Originally a web novel (2022–2023), the story was adapted into a webtoon (2024) and later a K-drama (2024–2025) on MBC TV, starring Yoo Yeon-seok as Baek Sa-eon, Chae Soo-bin as Hong Hee-ju, Heo Nam-jun as Ji Sang-woo, and Jang Gyu-ri as Na Yu-ri. The drama, praised for its strong performances, aired weekly and is now streaming on Netflix, allowing global audiences to experience the story.
