Ben Affleck's Armageddon moment with his kids has gone viral — and it's not for the reason you might expect. The actor, reminiscing about a family movie night during COVID, decided to introduce his children to the 1998 blockbuster, Armageddon. But what followed was a hilarious meltdown from his young critics.
"Almost immediately, it was like, 'This is so stupid! Are you kidding me?'" Affleck recalls with a laugh during Jimmy Kimmel Live. His son didn’t hold back either, adding, "This doesn’t make sense!" To which Affleck responded, "This is not a logic-based film!"
And he's right — the 90s action classic is as absurd as it gets. With exploding asteroids and a ragtag team of drillers saving Earth, Armageddon isn't exactly known for its intellectual depth.

Despite the film’s over-the-top premise, Armageddon became one of the highest-grossing films of 1998, raking in nearly $554 million worldwide. Directed by Michael Bay, it captured the hearts of audiences with its explosive action and unforgettable soundtrack, including Aerosmith’s iconic hit "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing."
But for Affleck, it’s all part of the charm. His kids may have been quick to point out the movie’s flaws, but it’s clear he’s proud of the film’s place in pop culture. After all, even a film that’s "not logic-based" can still make an impression — even if it's the wrong one.
