Would you dare to compare Pierce Brosnan or Helen Mirren to a dog breed? Tom Hardy did just that, and in a very specific and humorous manner. During an interview with Olivia Marks about his current work Mobland, Hardy, a well-known dog lover, couldn’t resist the opportunity to compare his Mobland co-stars to various mutts.
"I don’t think they’re pedigrees, any of them," Hardy remarked with a laugh. "They’re all mongrels. You got a little mutt, a tallish mutt, and me." When asked to describe his own character, Hardy explained, "That would be some kind of long-haired thing mixed with a Rottweiler, do you know what I mean?" He continued, "It’s vanity just calling out dog names I like, but it fits!"
As for his co-star Pierce Brosnan, Hardy jokingly referred to him as the "tall one, the tall mutt." He didn’t stop there, though — When talking about Helen Mirren, despite her smaller size, Hardy described her as being like a chihuahua — small but extremely aggressive, adding that she was "the most dangerous" of them all.
Hardy’s affection for dogs is well-known, and he’s proud of his own pack, including a French bulldog named Max and a pit bull named Woodstock. His fondness for animals seems to have bled into his professional life, as his playful comparison of his co-stars to dogs added a unique and light-hearted touch to the interview.
