'The Electric State': A Whimsical Journey into a Robot-Run Revolution with Chris Pratt and Millie Bobby Brown

Still from the film 'The Electric State'

The Russo brothers' film will premiere on Netflix on March 14.

The Electric State is a spectacular adventure from the directors of Avengers: Endgame, set in an alternate, retro-futuristic version of the 1990s. Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things, Enola Holmes, Damsel) stars as Michelle, an orphaned teenager navigating life in a society where sentient robots resembling cartoon characters and mascots, once peaceful companions to humans, now live in exile following a failed uprising.

Everything Michelle believes she knows about the world is turned upside down one night when she's visited by Cosmo, a sweet, enigmatic robot who appears to be controlled by Christopher — Michelle's genius younger brother, whom she had thought was dead. Determined to find the beloved sibling she believed she had lost, Michelle sets off across the American Southwest with Cosmo. Along the way, she reluctantly teams up with Keats (Chris Pratt, Guardians of the Galaxy, Jurassic World), a low-grade smuggler, and his wisecracking robot companion, Herman (voiced by Anthony Mackie).

As they venture into the Exclusion Zone, a secluded area of the desert where robots now exist independently, Keats and Michelle encounter a peculiar and vibrant group of new animatronic allies, discovering that the forces behind Christopher's disappearance are far more sinister than they could have ever imagined.
