Tom Cruise’s run as Ethan Hunt may be coming to a close, but he’s far from stepping away from Hollywood — or the daring stunts that have become his trademark. Confirming that The Final Reckoning is his last Mission: Impossible film on the red carpet, Cruise made it clear this isn’t the end of his journey in cinema.
When The Hollywood Reporter reminded him of his previous vow to match Harrison Ford’s stamina — you know, the one where Cruise said he wanted to keep doing Mission: Impossible until he was 80 — the actor didn’t flinch.
"I actually said I’m going to make movies into my 80s; actually, I’m going to make them into my 100s," he said with a grin that knows it can still defy gravity. "I will never stop," Cruise added. "I will never stop doing action, I will never stop doing drama, comedy films — I’m excited."

And we believe him. Because if there’s one thing Tom Cruise does better than anyone else in Hollywood, it’s commit. Whether it’s dangling off the side of the Burj Khalifa, piloting a fighter jet for Top Gun: Maverick, or perfecting the physics of a mid-air spin, he treats every project like a masterclass in possibility.
But before the stunts, there's a method — part habit, part survival instinct.
"There’s a lot of pre-stunt rituals that keep me alive," he joked. "It depends on what I’m doing and the amount of preparation I have to do. A lot of thought goes into it, and they are very complex and very interesting."

Interesting feels like an understatement coming from the man whose idea of a fun day at work includes freefalling from planes. But that’s Cruise: part philosopher, part adrenaline junkie, all movie star.
