In a lawsuit shaking Hollywood’s image of on-set safety, stunt performer Devyn LaBella accuses Kevin Costner of orchestrating an unscripted and unapproved rape scene during the filming of Horizon 2. According to the suit,(via Variety) Costner—who directed the Western—improvised a violent assault scene without consent, warning, or the presence of an intimacy coordinator.
LaBella, doubling for actress Ella Hunt, claims she was pulled in when Hunt refused to film the scene.
"On that day, I was left exposed, unprotected, and deeply betrayed by a system that promised safety and professionalism," LaBella stated. "What happened to me shattered my trust and forever changed how I move through this industry."

The complaint notes SAG-AFTRA protocols were violated, including the lack of 48-hour notice and absence of closed set or consent.
Costner’s attorney, Marty Singer, has denied the allegations outright: "This claim by Devyn LaBella has absolutely no merit… Ms. LaBella is a serial accuser… those shakedown tactics won’t work in this case."
Yet the lawsuit has already ignited broader questions about power, gender, and accountability in Hollywood’s most sacred spaces.
