After the runaway success of Rebel Ridge, which drew over 31 million views on Netflix in just three days, Jeremy Saulnier’s next project is already stirring up buzz. His new untitled thriller — described as a gritty, high-stakes chase in the spirit of The Fugitive — is at the centre of a heated bidding war among major studios.
A24, Neon, 20th Century Studios, and Netflix are all reportedly vying for the script, though Saulnier is said to be favouring a theatrical release this time. The filmmaker, known for the visceral punch of Blue Ruin and Green Room, seems to be returning to familiar territory — with a twist. In a past interview, he teased the new film would involve "music and Halloween and fun shit."
Rebel Ridge may have had a turbulent journey to the screen — including the highly publicised exit of John Boyega — but it ultimately proved to be a critical and streaming hit, catapulting actor Aaron Pierre to greater visibility. That momentum now follows Saulnier into his next chapter.

With his signature mix of tension, violence and stripped-down storytelling, Saulnier’s latest effort has the industry watching closely — and competing fiercely.
