'Give Me a Chance': Finn Jones Wants to Revive His MCU Role, Promises a New Approach

Critics cited weak choreography, and lack of character depth.

The actor who portrayed a Marvel comic book hero is seeking another chance for a return. And why not? Given that the Netflix Marvel shows are now available on Disney+ and their characters are being integrated into the MCU, especially with new series such as Echo and Daredevil: Born Again, a return for Finn Jones from the cancelled Iron Fist series seems entirely plausible.

"I’m very aware of the critiques of the character and my role in it. My response to that is: give me a f*cking chance, man. I’m here and I’m ready, and I wanna prove people wrong" he said at La Conve Monterrey, an anime convention in New Mexico.

The Iron Fist series, which aired on Netflix from 2017 to 2018, faced substantial criticism that ultimately led to its cancellation. One of the main points of contention was the casting of Finn Jones as Danny Rand, with many fans and critics arguing that an Asian-American actor would have been a more fitting choice, given the character's origins.

Beyond the casting debates, the series was also criticised for its fight choreography, which many felt lacked the intensity and finesse expected from a martial arts-driven story. The action sequences were often described as lacklustre and failed to leave a lasting impact.

These combined factors contributed to the series' struggle to connect with both audiences and critics, resulting in its cancellation after two seasons.
