The beloved British sitcom The Good Life first aired on BBC One in April 1975, running for four series and concluding in June 1978 . The show followed Tom and Barbara Good's attempt to live a self-sufficient life in suburban Surbiton, much to the dismay of their affluent neighbors, Margo and Jerry Leadbetter. Penelope Keith portrayed Margo, a role that earned her a BAFTA TV Award for Best Light Entertainment Performance in 1977.
To celebrate the show's 50th anniversary, Penelope Keith will host a special documentary titled The Good Life: Inside Out, set to air on U&Gold later this year. The two-hour retrospective will revisit filming locations, showcase original scripts, and feature interviews with cast members, including Felicity Kendal, who played Barbara Good.
Regarding their off-screen relationship, Penelope Keith and Felicity Kendal have maintained a close friendship since their time on the show. Their camaraderie extended beyond the set, with both actresses performing together in the West End during the series' run.
