There’s a reason we haven’t seen Grace since she walked out of that burning mansion in her blood-soaked wedding dress — and it’s not because Hollywood wasn’t interested. In fact, quite the opposite. The team behind Ready or Not knew they had lightning in a bottle, and they refused to settle for striking twice in the same spot.
The sequel, Ready or Not: Here I Come, has been quietly brewing for six years, not out of hesitation, but obsession. Producer James Vanderbilt in an interview with Comicbook admits they held themselves to an almost brutal standard:
"We were really hard on ourselves on not just repeating what the first movie was… but also, not losing the sauce of what the first movie was."

And so, they waited — until the right idea came along. Until writers Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy pitched something so sharp, so perfectly unhinged, it made the entire team say:
"Of course, that’s what it is. That’s a great idea."

With Samara Weaving back in action, the original directors returning, and a cast that reads like horror-royalty-meets-Hollywood-chaos — Gellar, Wood, Cronenberg — the game is on again. But this time, the rules are different, the stakes are higher, and Grace? She’s not just surviving. She’s ready.
