Viewers who remember The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring well are familiar with the major plot-driving intrigues. The main source of evil was the One Ring itself. Its influence and dark power affected every member of the Fellowship in one way or another. But most of them were able to resist the object's dark aura.
For example, Frodo only began to truly feel the Ring’s destructive pull toward the end of his journey. Boromir, however, started to change almost immediately after coming into close contact with it.
Why Boromir Was So Vulnerable to the Ring’s Power
Neither in Peter Jackson’s films nor in J.R.R. Tolkien’s books is it ever directly explained why Boromir was so sensitive to the Ring’s corrupting force. But fans of the franchise have come up with their own theory. They noticed that Boromir was the only one who physically interacted with the shards of Narsil. When he picked up the blade from the ground to examine it, he cut himself on its edge. This was the very blade that had once severed Sauron’s fingers.

It’s entirely possible that traces of the Dark Lord’s blood remained on the blade. That could have nudged Boromir toward the shadow. Notably, he began to behave with hostility toward Aragorn shortly after this moment.
The Cause of Denethor’s Madness
The internet also found an explanation for Boromir’s father Denethor’s erratic behavior toward his younger son. Users have suggested that Denethor may have suffered from serious mental health issues without even realizing it. According to this theory, the food he ate contained large amounts of lead from the plates. He may have been poisoned by the accumulation of this substance in his body, due to the fact that in large quantities, heavy metals like lead can cause brain damage.
