In a recent interview with TechRadar, the Russo Brothers revealed the direction their version of one of Marvel Comics' most iconic storylines will take, hinting that the Secret Wars comics will continue to serve as a major influence on their vision moving forward.
Joe Russo explained, "We always create our own version of the story. So, we use the comics as loose inspiration. But, you know, I grew up on the original run. That's something that got me into Marvel comic books. The Hickman run is also fantastic, and they're very different from each other in a lot of ways, so we'll draw inspiration from both of them."
Secret Wars played a big role in shaping Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Its ideas, like different universes coming together and massive battles, inspired the huge events in these films. The merging of realities and high-stakes action set the stage for the epic confrontations and the multiverse in the MCU.
